In partnership with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) The COVID-19 pandemic presents a severe threat to the world economy and, in particular, the global travel and tourism industry. According to research from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), travel and tourism GDP loss to the world economy is up to US$2.1 trillion, while up to 75 millions jobs are at immediate risk globally. The Asia Pacific region is expected to be most heavily impacted with up to 49 million jobs at risk throughout the region, representing a loss of nearly US$800 billion to travel and tourism GDP for the region. The travel and tourism industry is facing an extraordinary crisis and the entire industry needs to work together to preserve and protect a sector that is a vital contributor to the economic livelihood of millions of people around the world. During times such as these, it is essential to have reliable analysis and insights to the most-up-to date data and information in order to enact a measured and balanced recovery strategy.
